The quick answer
myBuddy is Elephant Robotics’ first dual-arm robot: a Raspberry Pi-powered service robot with a 7-inch screen, two 2-megapixel HD cameras and open motion-control libraries for path planning, dual-arm interference avoidance and vision research.
Why we like it
- Two arms with 280 mm working radius and 250 g payload each
- A 7-inch interactive display and two 2-megapixel cameras
- More than 100 open control interfaces and an open URDF
- Built-in ROS environment with RViz and MoveIt cases
Before you buy
- At $1,699 it is a research-grade desktop platform
- A 250 g payload per arm suits light tasks
- A Raspberry Pi brain means a Linux-style development workflow
A dual-arm platform on a desk
myBuddy gives you two arms, a face-like touchscreen and two cameras in a desktop humanoid. Each arm reaches 280 mm and lifts up to 250 g, and accessories such as a suction pump and grippers expand its tasks.
Open for research
Elephant Robotics opens the motion-control drive library, with more than 100 interfaces such as joint-angle and coordinate control. That supports path-planning research, dual-arm interference avoidance and vision learning.
ROS and vision
The robot runs a ROS environment with RViz and MoveIt cases such as slider control and path planning, with open URDF files. One camera supports area location, object and QR-code recognition and another supports face and body recognition.
Our recommendation
Choose myBuddy if you want to study two-arm coordination. For single-arm learning, a myCobot 280 is simpler and cheaper.
