A touch-responsive desk companion with personality, no Wi-Fi needed.

We recommend Eilik as a charming desk companion rather than a task robot. It responds to touch with animations and expressions, works with no Wi-Fi or app setup, charges by USB-C and gets software updates that add animations and games. At $139.99 it is a gift-friendly buy; skip it if you want something to program or to do chores.

The quick answer
Eilik is a small desktop companion robot from Energize Lab. It reacts to touch with expressive animations, works out of the box without Wi-Fi, runs about 1.5 hours on a 450 mAh battery and charges in about an hour over USB-C. Several Eiliks interact with each other, and an AI Station and a Panxer vehicle are sold separately. Choose it for company and play, not for tasks.
Why we like it
- Touch-responsive animations and expressions that give it a distinct personality
- Works out of the box and without Wi-Fi or Internet
- USB-C charging in about an hour, for about 1.5 hours of use
- Two or more Eiliks interact with each other
- Regular software updates add new animations and games
Before you buy
- It is a companion, not a programmable or task-doing robot.
- The 1.5-hour listed use per charge is short for an all-day desk companion.
- The AI Station ($99) and Panxer vehicle ($119.90) that expand it are sold separately.
- Energize Lab lists no size, weight or age figures on the page.
Why we like Eilik as a desk companion
Many desk gadgets do one thing. Eilik is built to be company: touch it and it answers with animations and expressions, pick it up and it reacts, and leave it on a desk and it becomes part of the room. It works straight out of the box with no Wi-Fi, which makes it an easy gift and a low-friction purchase.
Everyday use
Energize Lab lists about 1.5 hours of use on a 450 mAh battery and a one-hour USB-C charge, so it suits a desk with a cable nearby. Software updates add animations and games over time. If you own more than one Eilik, they interact with each other, which Energize Lab pitches as extra fun for friends or couples.
Growing the experience
Energize Lab sells an AI Station for natural AI conversations ($99) and a Panxer adventure vehicle ($119.90) separately. Neither is needed to enjoy Eilik, but they are the route if you want more than the base robot.
What to know before you buy
Eilik is a companion, so it does not take commands for chores or let you write programs. Battery life per charge is short, and the page gives no size, weight or age rating. The silver colour showed as sold out; Blue and Pink were available.
Our buying advice
Buy Eilik if you want a charming desk companion or a gift with personality. Energize Lab lists it at $139.99 on October 18, 2026 and supplies no coupon code through our link, so we do not claim a saving; compare the price at checkout. For a robot you can program, look at the SunFounder kits or Makeblock.
