We recommend the TerraMow Mini 500 as an easy first robot mower for a compact lawn. It uses the same TerraVision 2.0 triple-camera system as TerraMow’s larger V-series, needs no perimeter wire or RTK antenna, and maps the lawn in a single run. At €749 it is the lowest-cost way into TerraMow’s camera-led setup, and its 150-minute runtime is generous for a 500 m² rating.

The quick answer
The TerraMow Mini 500 is a compact, wire-free robot mower for lawns up to 500 m². TerraMow pairs a triple-camera vision system with one-tap auto mapping, 3D obstacle avoidance and rain detection, so setup is closer to unboxing than installation. Choose it for a small, clearly edged lawn; step up to the V600 if you want app-controlled cutting height and a wider cut.
Why we like it
- No perimeter wire or RTK antenna: one-tap auto mapping with TerraVision 2.0 cameras
- A long 150-minute listed runtime for a 500 m² rating
- 3D obstacle avoidance, rain detection and automatic recharging
- Lift alert, geofencing and GPS tracking for peace of mind
- A compact 10.1 kg body for tight gardens and narrow routes
Before you buy
- Cutting height is adjusted by hand (20 to 60 mm), not from the app.
- The 18 cm cutting width means more passes than larger models on open lawns.
- Camera navigation works best with clear lawn edges and decent light.
- 4G is listed as optional and launching soon, so plan on Wi-Fi at the dock.
Why we like the Mini 500 for small lawns
Most of the effort in owning a robot mower happens on day one: laying wire, placing an RTK antenna, walking boundaries. TerraMow removes most of that. The Mini 500 maps the lawn in one automatic run using three cameras, then mows on the schedule you set in the app. For a compact garden that is the right trade: camera-led, wire-free mowing at a lower price than TerraMow’s V-series, without paying for capacity you will not use.
Setup and lawn fit
TerraMow rates the Mini 500 for 500 m² and lists 75 to 110 m² of mowing per hour. Measure the grass itself rather than the whole plot, and walk the route the mower will take between areas. Camera navigation reads the lawn visually, so clear edges between grass and beds, paths or gravel make mapping simpler. The maximum slope is 18° (32.5%); keep the steepest working section inside that rating and take extra care with wet banks.
Everyday mowing and features
A 150-minute listed runtime and 130 to 250 m² per charge mean a typical small lawn is finished in one or two cycles, with automatic returns to the dock in between. Rain detection sends it home when the weather turns, and IPX6 protection covers rinsing it down. The app handles schedules, zones and edge-cutting settings, and over-the-air updates keep the software current. A lift alert, geofencing and GPS tracking add security.
What to know before you buy
Cutting height is set by hand from 20 to 60 mm, so seasonal changes happen on the mower rather than in the app. The 18 cm blade disc is narrower than the V600’s 20.3 cm, which is fine on a small lawn but slower on open grass. 4G is listed as optional and launching soon, so check your Wi-Fi coverage at the dock. If your lawn is closer to 600 m² or you want app-controlled height changes, compare the V600.
Our buying advice
Buy the Mini 500 if your lawn is under about 500 m², reasonably well defined, and you want the simplest wire-free start. Choose the standard version at €749 or add TerraMow’s garage for €799. TerraMow’s friend referral FRIEND-WQGSQ97 reports 3% off, which would bring the standard version to about €726.53 if it applies to your order.
