Sunseeker X5
Medium-to-large US lawns up to 0.5 acre where AWD and flexible mapped zones are useful

Sunseeker S4
U.S. lawns up to 0.25 acre where shade, narrow passages or separated zones make LiDAR plus Vision AI an appealing fit
The quick answer
Choose the X5 at $1,499.99 for a lawn up to 0.5 acre, slopes up to 60% and all-wheel drive. Choose the S4 at $1,279.99 for a lawn up to 0.25 acre where shade or narrow passages matter: it uses 3D LiDAR plus Vision AI with no RTK station and lists passages down to 80 cm. Both are wire-free with up to 100 zones.
| Buying detail | X5 | S4 |
|---|---|---|
| Best fit | Medium-to-large US lawns up to 0.5 acre where AWD and flexible mapped zones are useful | U.S. lawns up to 0.25 acre where shade, narrow passages or separated zones make LiDAR plus Vision AI an appealing fit |
| Rated area | Up to 0.5 acre, manufacturer specification | Up to 0.25 acre / 1,000 m², manufacturer rating |
| Slope guidance | Up to 60% (30°), manufacturer claim | Up to 42% (22°), manufacturer claim |
| Navigation | AONavi Pro RTK-GNSS + VSLAM | 3D LiDAR + Vision AI |
| Price snapshot | $1,499.99 listed → estimated $1,469.99 if code CURRENT applies | $1,279.99 listed → estimated $1,249.99 if code CURRENT applies |
| Check first | A small, mostly level lawn may not justify the X5 price or capacity. | The 0.25-acre rating makes it a poor fit for a larger lawn or one that needs substantial capacity headroom. |
Two ways to navigate without wire
The X5 pairs AONavi Pro RTK-GNSS with VSLAM, so it plans the route with a satellite antenna and cameras. The S4 combines 3D LiDAR with Vision AI and needs no RTK station, which suits lawns under trees or near buildings where sky view is limited.
Capacity and ground
Sunseeker rates the X5 for up to 0.5 acre and slopes up to 60% (30°) with all-wheel drive. The S4 is rated for up to 0.25 acre and slopes up to 42% (22°), and lists passages down to 80 cm. Slope ratings are manufacturer maximums; wet grass and turns reduce grip.
Cutting and grass guidance
The X5 cuts 8.6 inches wide and lists 1.6 to 3.2 inches of app-adjustable height with an edge micro-blade. Sunseeker says the S4 is not compatible with Zoysia or St. Augustine grass and lists lawn height below 9 cm, so check your grass first.
Our pick
Choose the X5 for larger or steeper lawns, and the S4 for a smaller, shaded or tightly divided lawn. Sunseeker’s partner code CURRENT reports $30 off, about $1,469.99 for the X5 and $1,249.99 for the S4 if it applies; confirm the saving at checkout.
